The 14 Days Around Uganda Wildlife Safari is a blend of Uganda’s wild game, primates, adventure, culture coupled with great scenic views. It involves encountering Kampala/Entebbe city, Nile adventures in Jinja, Ziwa Rhino sanctuary, National Parks of Murchison, Kibale, Queen Elizabeth, Bwindi, and Lake Mburo. Inquire Now Game viewing and primate tracking are the cores while the blend of adventure activities likes white water rafting and bungee jumping give this safari a rewarding taste to any Uganda safari undertaker.
Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe Airport
On your arrival at Entebbe airport, you will be picked up by our representative, your driver/guide, who will brief you about your safari and transfer you to your place of accommodation. Do a city tour in the afternoon and visit local sights depending on your flight time then dinner and overnight. This is the start of the 14 Days Around Uganda Wildlife Safari.
Day 2: Source of the Nile Jinja and Sezibwa Falls
Depart from your accommodation after early morning breakfast for Jinja via Mukono, make a stopover at Sezibwa Falls to see the spiritual healing waters. Visit the mighty Source of River Nile where we shall have our lunch and if time allows we will also visit Itanda falls. In the evening we drive back to Kampala for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary
After breakfast, you will be picked up from your Hotel by our driver/guide and transfer to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary passing through traditional home steads arriving to the Sanctuary in the early afternoon and do the Rhino Trekking, have lunch and later drive to Masindi, for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Chimpanzee Trekking Budongo Forest
After an early breakfast, we transfer to Murchison Falls National Park, entering the Park with a mini game drive and go straight to Kanio Pabidi out post for registration and briefing before we start the Chimpanzee Trekking. The activity normally takes about three hours but sometimes it may be shorter or longer depending on the food availability. We come back to the out Post, have lunch, relax around, and visit the top of Murchison Falls and later have dinner and overnight.
Day 5: Game Drive and Boat Cruise
The day begins early with early breakfast and then go for the game drive in search for wildlife that includes the Elephants, Buffaloes, Bushbucks, Giraffes, Cobs, Lions and Leopards among others. It also harbors a variety of bird life (450 bird species) that includes the rare Shoe Billed Stock. The game drive normally takes about three to four hours. We later come back to the Lodge, relax around, have lunch and later at around 2:00pm go for the boat cruise on the Nile for yet another but different view of the wildlife at close quartos as they cool off at the banks of the River and also view the Falls from the bottom side. We come back to Lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 6: Delta Launch and Transfer to Hoima
After a relaxed breakfast, at around 09:00am, we take a boat cruise to the delta for another view of wildlife especially the Shoe Billed Stork. We later come back to the Lodge, have lunch and later transfer to Hoima passing through the Bulisa escapement for a better view of Lake Albert and the Albertine Rift Valley and check in to our accommodation for dinner and overnight.
Day 7: Hoima – Kibale National Park
After breakfast, we transfer to Kibale National Park passing through traditional home steads and the tea plantation of Fort Portal (Kabarore) with en-route lunch arriving in the evening and check in to the service of our accommodation for dinner and overnight.
Day 8: Chimpanzee Trekking in Kibale Forest
After breakfast we slope down to the Park Offices for registration and briefing before we start the Trekking in one of East Africa’s oldest Forest with trees as high as 50 metres. The Trekking may take about three hours in search for Habituated Chimpanzees. The forest also harbors about five primate species that include the Black and White Colobus, Red Colobus, Red tailed, Lhotse’s Monkeys and Grey cheeked Mangbey. It is also home to a variety of bird species including the rare Green Breasted Pita. We come back to the Lodge, relax around, have lunch and later go for a nature walk in the Bigodi wetland which is also very rewarding. We come back to the Lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 9: Kibale – Queen Elizabeth National Park
After breakfast we transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park driving through the Crater Lakes region and drive south wards along the foot hills of Rwenzori Mountain Ranges, these constitute the western Rift Valley and form the boundary between Uganda and Congo. With en-route lunch at Kasese. We enter the Park with a mini game drive arriving in the afternoon and check in to the service of our accommodation, have a free afternoon, dinner and overnight.
Day 10: Morning Game Drive – Afternoon Boat Cruise
The day begins early with an early morning cup of coffee and then starts our game drive towards the Kasenyi plains in search for the wildlife that includes the Elephants, Waterbucks, Cobs, Buffaloes, Giant Forest Hogs, Bushbucks, Hyenas, Lions and Leopards among the mammal species and a variety of bird life. This Park is said to have the highest concentration of bird species as compared to any Park in the world (about 612 birds) recorded in this Park. We come back to the Lodge for breakfast, relax around, have lunch and later in the afternoon go for the boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel for yet another but different view of wild life from close as they come to cool off in the Channel water. We come back to the Lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight.
Day 11: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
After breakfast we visit Katwe salt lake on the edge of the Park to see how salt is locally extracted. Did you know that latex is used as one of the protective gadgets in the mining of salt? Come and experience this, it’s worth visiting. We later transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park passing through the Ishasha sector where the famous tree climbing Lions can be seen as we are arriving in Bwindi in the evening and check in to the service of our accommodation for dinner and overnight.
Day 12: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi
After breakfast we go to Park Offices for registration and briefing before we start the highlight for our safari, the Gorilla Trekking. The hikers will like it although sometimes it may be strenuous walking in muddy conditions on hilly terrain and sometimes with rain over head. This may take between 2 -8 hours depending on the food availability. We come back to the Lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 13: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park
After breakfast we transfer to Lake Mburo National Park passing through the rolling hills of Kigezi and Ankole, with en-route lunch arriving in the afternoon and enter the Park with a mini game drive and check in to the service of Eagles nest lodge. We then go for the boat cruise on lake Mburo in search for wild life that include the Hippos, Crocodiles, Elands, Statungas and Monitor lizards among others. We also expect to see a variety of bird life including the rare African Fin foot. We come back to the Lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 14: Lake Mburo National Park – Kampala
The day begins early as we go for the Nature walk on shores of Lake Mburo in search for wild life that includes The Zebras, Impalas, Reedbuck, Cliff springers, Buffaloes and Leopards among other mammals and a variety of bird life that includes the Papyrus Gonolake. We go back to the Lodge for breakfast and transfer to Kampala arriving in the afternoon and check in to the service of forest cottages or to the Airport according the time of your flight.
