Day 1: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park
You will start your drive north-west and, travel to Masindi via Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. After lunch, proceed to Murchison at the spectacularly situated site at the top of the fall where you can see the Nile’s beauty perfected!! Marvel at the Nile, compressing from up to 1 km squeeze through a 7 meter canyon dropping 45 meters with a thunderous roar creating a beautiful rainbow, a plume of spray and the best thing that happened to the Nile.
Day 2: Morning Game Drive – Afternoon Boat Cruise
After your cup of coffee, cross the Nile by ferry to the northern bank of the park for an early morning game drive. You will spot Elephant, Lion, Cape buffalo, Rothschild’s giraffe, hartebeest, Waterbuck, Oribi, Bushbuck, Bohor reedbuck, hyena and if you are lucky, the leopard. Return to the hotel for breakfast and lunch. After lunch, go for a boat safari upstream the calm Victoria Nile to the base of the falls stopping just tens of meters from the “Devil’s Cauldron”. En-route, marvel at the toothsome hippos, crocodiles and over this 17 km stretch you may see elephant, waterbuck and Uganda Kob crocodile. This is also a zone of many bird species like Goliath heron, Egyptian goose, pelican bee-eater, kingfisher, hornbill, cormorant and the rare shoebill stork. You jump off the boat for a hike to the Top of the Falls for more photography.
Day 3: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park
All day drive south via Hoima to Fort Portal through verdant countryside and past traditional homesteads and farms along Albertine Rift escarpments. Fort-Portal rests in the shadow of the fabled Mountains of the Moon. Meals and over night at your lodge.
Day 4: Kibale Chimpanzee Trekking – Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park
Early morning trek for chimpanzees. Kibale is the best reserve in Africa to view chimps, a thick jungle with a towering canopy. In the afternoon, continue with the drive into Queen Elizabeth National Park, sightseeing and game viewing enroute.
Day 5: Queen Elizabeth National Park
Begin your day with a cup of coffee. Early morning game drive along Kasenyi and Queens Mile makes visitors encounter elephants, buffalo, water bucks, warthogs, lions, Uganda Kobs lakes and a variety of birds. Return to the lodge for breakfast and lunch. After lunch, a two hour boat trip along the famous Kazinga channel is worthwhile an opportunity to see Hippo, Buffalo, Kobs, Elephants, warthogs etc.
Day 6: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Morning bat cave walk in to Maramagambo Forest and for the blue lake. Proceed to Ishasha. You will drive along the deep and wide dry craters that are occupied by savanna grasses and acacia. The drive takes you through the unique western rift valley escarpment and the (southern part of Queen Elizabeth National Park) Ishasha sector where you will take on yet another game drive in search of tree climbing lions before proceeding to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Driving through interesting features arriving Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in the evening. This park is home of the rare mountain gorillas. Apart from gorillas, there are a wide variety of primates to see including the blue and red tailed monkeys.
Day 7: Bwindi Gorilla Trekking
After breakfast set off early with guides to track the gorillas. The thrill of your encounter will erase the difficulties of the potentially strenuous trek. Bring jungle boots and rain jackets because the park is often wet. Spend time in awe watching the gorillas go about their activities. Each gorilla safari encounter is different and has its own rewards, but you are likely to enjoy the close view of adults feeding, grooming and resting as the youngsters frolic and swing from vines in a delightfully playful display.
Afternoon is spent on a foot village walk to explore the life style of the people living and surrounding the park. Return to camp exhilarated to relieve the encounter with friends over a drink.
Day 8: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi Islands
Begin you day with a cup of African coffee, ready for a drive to the Islands of Lake Bunyonyi via Kabale a region popularly known by many tourists as the ‘Switzerland of Africa’. You will be taken by the scenery of winding road, hills and valleys, terraced landscape and friendly people.
Day 9: Visit Lake Bunyonyi Islands
The day begins with a boat trip for sightseeing and birding along Lake Bunyonyi. Experience Uganda’s breathtaking scenery and feel the wonders of nature as you will see big terraced hills, big valleys, big everything including nice people and forests! Return to the camp for lunch.
Day 10: Drive to Lake Mburo National Park
After breakfast, drive to Lake Mburo National park for a game drive. The park is renowned for zebras, impalas, buffaloes, hippos, topi and elands including the rare shoebill, crested crane, pelicans, fish eagle, heron and many water birds. Evening boat cruise amidst the Hippos is amazing.
Day 11: Lake Mburo National Park
Morning game drive in the Park which is an is an extension of the Tanzanian Plains with big herds of Zebra, Impala, Eland , Warthogs ,buffalo and other savannah species. For birders, this is one of the best place to find African Fin foot, Papyrus, Bush Shrike, etc. The evening is spent on relaxing at the Lodge observing game moving in the park.
Day 12: Return to Kampala – Departure.
After an early breakfast, you will take an interesting safari bush walk, this park boosts of the best Nature walks in all parks. Return to Kampala after lunch with stopover at Igongo cultural centre and Equator Uganda crossing a brief photo opportunity and to shop souvenirs. Transfer to Kampala or Entebbe for your flight back home.
